Actor Dwayne Johnson (The rock) is starring in new movie “Rampage” which would premier in the cinemas today (13th April, 2018) in Nigeria.

In the movie, Dwayne (as Davis Okoye), is a primatologist who had a stronger love for animals more than humans. He rescued and adopted George, a rare Albino Gorilla from poachers when the gorilla was age 2. They had a strong friendship together, however, a wrong scientific experiment had caused some animals (including George) to metamorphose into giant creatures who then went berserk and there was rampage across North America.
Okoye teamed up with Kate, a geneticist, to secure an antidote and then set out on a mission to rescue the world, including his one time friend, George.

The Rock said he choose the name “Okoye” in order to pay respect to his all time NFL favourite player, Christian Okoye aka the Nigerian Nightmare.

In a tweet he said

Yes sir, happy you picked up on that. Since my character was adopted by a Nigerian family, I wanted his last name to pay homage to one of my all time fav @NFL football players – the “Nigerian Nightmare” Christian Okoye. Enjoy Rampage 👊🏾
